The Bowral Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc is an organisation that was re-established in 1984 to promote business and economic growth and development within the Bowral boundaries and then the surrounding areas of the Southern Highlands and Illawarra.

Bowral Chamber is not just about retail and boutique shopping but includes property owners (investors) and industry and the community at large.

The Bowral Chamber offers its members an opportunity of net-working and bullding relationships with other members and businesses, Wingecarribee Shire Council including Tourism Southern Highlands and the NSW government. We obvioulsy work hand in hand with the other local chambers of commerce and from time to time work on issues that affect the whole area.

Bowral is a unique country town that is in close proximity to Sydney, Canberra and the South Coast. Bowral was recently given the number one destination to visit in country NSW by the Australian Traveller magazine.

The bustling Bowral CBD has plenty to offer with boutique shopping specialising in fashion, restaurants, cafes and coffee shops, professional suites, art galleries and light industry and not to mention the famous Bowral Brickworks.

People come to Bowral during the year to experience the four seasons and to enjoy Tulip Time and its street parade,  three Day on the Green concerts with international artisits, Bradman Oval for international cricket matches and the famous Bradman Museum plus the two houses where Sir Donald was raised, The Bong Bong Picnic Races at Wyeera, three golf courses, a bowling club, historical homes such as John Oxleys, first Australian slat home bulit on Oxleys Hill, the  Bowral Court house made out of a Bowral building material known as "trachyte" which was quarried from Mt Gibraltar. A new event to be included on our calendar in March (autumn) 2010 is the Big Band festival.

Bowral has a public and private hospital, ambulance service, numerous medicos and specialists and recently its own MRI equipment provided by two Sydney specialists.

Education, and Bowral has several primary schools including Bowral Primary (where Sir Donald Bradman attended), St Thomas Aquinas, Southern Highlands Christian School, Seventh Day Adventist and secondary education schools include Bowral High, Chevalier and Oxley College.

Bowral has the Wingecarribee Shire Central Library which is adjacent to the Bowral Police station.

Accomodation. We start with the famous Milton Park and Cragieburn (currently being refurbished), numerous motels and not forgetting the many local B & B's tucked in and around Bowral.

Equestian clubs including Bowral Dresage, Burradoo Polocrosse and the Bowral Horse Show Society all have their facilites at the home of Bong Bong Races along Kangaloon Road.

At this stage I must mention my 2009 Committee. Vice Presidents are Geoff Hosey and Tony Glenn, treasurer Debra Blackah and Board members Ray Hill, Nicky Alekna, Richard Alekna and  Michael Job. We have numeours project we are considering and will be getting a questionnaire to our members and other businesses to see what are the high priorities for the Chamber. We can then determine short and long term aims and objectives for Bowral Chamber.
